Chen Wen-Pu qualified for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and was awarded a bonus by the Tainan Municipal Sports Federation Athletics Association

Chen Wen-Pu, a sprinter from NUTN, won gold in the mens 200-meter final of the 2023 National University Athletics Open with a time of 20.69 seconds. He became the second best in Taiwan over the years and also qualified for the Hangzhou Asian Games. Tainan Municipal Sports Federation Athletics Association specially awarded a reward of 20,000 NTD, hoping to win the medal and bring honor for Taiwan and Tainan city.

In the 1994 Hiroshima Asian Games, Tainan sprinter Hu Wen-Yu teamed up with Zeng Xiao-Sheng, Tao Wu-Xun, and Cai Yi-Cheng to finish fourth in the mens 400-meter relay. Chen Wen-Pu was over 170 centimeters tall when he was in Kunshan Elementary School. Hu Wen-Yu persuaded him to go to HsinHua Junior High School to join the track and field team. An accomplished disciple owes his accomplishments to his great teacher, HsinHua Junior High School and HsinHua Industrial Vocational High School are the constant winners in sprint events. Hu said, "He never lost in the third year of junior high school, and won the double gold medals in the mens 100 and 200 meters in the National High School Games."

After graduating from high school, Chen was admitted to NTHU through independent admission, becoming the first student in the history of HsinHua Industrial Vocational High School to be admitted to NTHU. However, the good start ended with an unsatisfactory dropout. In order to help family business, Chen retook the entrance exam and entered NUTN and continued his track and field career under the guidance of coaches Liu Li-Yu and Gong Yi-Lin.

In the National University Athletics Open, Chens performance in the mens 100-meter was not as good as expected, but the mens 200-meter performance made great progress. Second to the national record holder Yang Jun-Hans 20.23 seconds.

Chen said that this year, he set to reach the Asian Games qualifying standard of 20.80 seconds, and now he has achieved the goal. In the future, Chen will continue to focus on stress confrontation and solve the problem of insufficient start, hoping that the results will continue to advance.
